The High Technology Investigations unit is available to assist and support local, state and federal law enforcement, state or federal prosecutors, coroners/medical examiners, Children’s Division or juvenile officers with digital forensic analysis supporting criminal investigations of any crime involving a child victim. STAT High Technology Investigators are highly trained in all aspects of digital forensics and provide state level law enforcement assistance. Consultations are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via toll free telephone number. On-site support is available as soon as practical based on travel time of the on call investigator.

The STAT High Technology Unit conducts undercover operations on the internet in search of online predators and offenders, who produce, distribute and collect child sexual abuse visual contraband. The Digital Forensics Investigations unit conducts digital forensic examinations of computers, cell phones and any other digital device in support of all crimes against children. High Technology Investigators are POST Certified and have state wide jurisdiction over any crime against or upon the death of a child. STAT is a member of the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC) and is partnered with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Digital Forensics Investigations Unit (DFIU).
