0275.070.00  JOB CORPS ACTIVITIES

In many scenarios, activities in Job Corps can count within one of the allowable work activities based on the activity in which the Temporary Assistance (TA) recipient is participating.  Activity guidelines must be followed for this to count towards federal work participation rate.

Example:

• A recipient is going to high school and is under the age of 20.  After appropriate documentation is obtained, this activity counts towards his/her work participation requirements, and is recorded under the High School service in the MWA System.
• A recipient is going to General Educational Development (GED) classes and is under the age of 20.  After appropriate documentation is obtained, this activity counts towards his/her work participation requirements, and is recorded under the GED service in the MWA System.
• Recipient is going to trade school that meets the Vocational Education and Training work activity definition.  After appropriate documentation is obtained, this activity counts towards all or part of his/her work participation requirements, and is recorded under the Vocational Education/Occupation Training service in the MWA System.
