0210.005.60 Temporary Assistance-SAB or Temporary Assistance-BP Combination Cases

A person eligible for both Temporary Assistance cash and supplemental AB or BP is ineligible for supplemental AB or BP.  The claimant does not have a choice.  They must be in an Temporary Assistance assistance group.

No special AB expenses or AB income exemptions are allowed on the Temporary Assistance budget.  Treat the person exactly like any other Temporary Assistance person.  A Temporary Assistance-supplemental AB combination case or an Temporary Assistance-BP combination case will never exist.

If this person becomes ineligible for Temporary Assistance, he/she may receive supplemental AB or BP if otherwise eligible.

0210.005.65 Temporary Assistance-GR COMBINATION CASES

For a Temporary Assistance participant who is a specified relative to a GR claimant, determine respective eligibility based on need and grant amount without regard to the other.  Exclude the GR claimant's needs and income from the Temporary Assistance assistance group to determine need or grant amount of the Temporary Assistance family. Exclude the Temporary Assistance family's needs and income to determine need or grant amount of the GR claimant.

EXCEPTIONS:  If the GR claimant is a stepparent in the Temporary Assistance case, continue to include his/her needs and income, other than GR income, as outlined under Stepparent Cases.  If the GR claimant is the parent of a minor parent, count his/her needs and income, other than GR income, as outlined under Minor Parents Living With Parents.  However, if the GR parent is eligible to receive Temporary Assistance for the minor parent, the parent must receive Temporary Assistance.
