MEMORANDUM

DISCUSSION:

Due to a suggestion from Staff Council, effective Monday, December 22, 2008, two new messages will appear on the Select Authorization (FM3G) screen when there is an active Food Stamp EU and one of the following actions is being authorized:

• Temporary Assistance approval,
• Temporary Assistance closing,
• Child Care approval and
• Child Care closing.

The new messages are:

• "Review CATELIG screen for possible changes" and
• "Review CATELIG and DCEXP screens for possible changes."

"Review CATELIG screen for possible changes" displays on the Select Authorization (FM3G) screen prior to authorization of an eligibility determination when an individual is being added or removed or the Child Care or Temporary Assistance benefits are closing and there is an active Food Stamp eligibility unit.

"Review CATELIG and DCEXP screens for possible changes" displays on Select Authorization (FM3G) prior to authorization when an individual is being added or removed or the Child Care case is closing and there is an active Food Stamp eligibility unit.

Review the categorical eligibility information entered on the Categorically Eligible (FMMK) screen and update to reflect the correct categorical eligibility when one of the new messages displays prior to authorization.

Identify categorically eligible EU members in FAMIS on the Categorically Eligible (FMMK) screen. The "CE (Y/N)" and "Effect Date" fields must be answered for each EU member, whether or not the individual is categorically eligible.

To change an individual’s categorical eligibility status or reason code, type A in the Com field next to the individual, change the appropriate information and the effective date, and press enter. Complete the eligibility determination by typing "EDRES" on the command line and pressing enter. Complete the authorization process.
